Clay Brinson is a top Northwestern Mutual Retirement Planning Specialist. A graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, he joined the company in 2005 and helps businesses navigate the complicated process of corporate retirement planning. He has earned the industry’s most notable awards including the Financial Times's 401k Top Retirement Advisor in 2018 and 2019.

A true Memphis native at heart, I now call Atlanta home where I live with my wife, Stacy and two sons, James and Ward.

I am a Tennessee Vols fan, enjoy playing golf, and have a passion for travel. So far, I have visited 3 continents and 20 countries. Some favorites have included: Thailand, Singapore, Portugal, Greece, Switzerland, Italy, and Costa Rica.

Years of Experience

After graduating from the University of Tennessee's Master in Accounting Program, I moved to Atlanta in 2011 to join PwC in the Private Company Service's Audit group. While at PwC, I helped my clients with financial statement audits of large private companies throughout the US. After a successful start to my career at PwC, I chose to follow in my father's footsteps at Northwestern Mutual in 2015. Now, as a 2nd generation advisor, I enjoy helping my clients achieve their vision of financial success. I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and a Certified Public Accountant.
